4- 3) An expert on my field, Alvar Aalto.
Alvar Aalto (1898 - 1976)
Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto was a Finnish architect and designer. He was the only architect of the Second Generation of the Modern Movement recognized as "master", equating himself to the great masters of the Heroic Period of the Modern Movement Le Corbusier, van der Rohe and Gropius. In addition, in his honor the Alvar Aalto Medal award is awarded every five years.
This architect had a lot of influence for me in my second semester of university, since, although he was talked about in a course because he was an important architect, in the Workshop I had to study one of his works thoroughly with a classmate, and this brought us many problems in deliveries. In many ways it was entertaining hahaha.
This work was "Baker House" Aalto built it in 1947, it was the student residence for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He even curved the facade, so that the rooms enjoyed the view of the Charles River without seeing the entire building from its windows. He also alternated the capacity and shape of the rooms, so all the rooms are different and while some look upstream, others do so downstream. Despite the curve, the facade of the rooms is an uninterrupted rhythm
