Post 6: ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

  • What comments can you make about your experience learning English at university? What about the use of blogs?

At least for me, at university I have learned different things, but almost everything I already know of the English Language is thanks to my high school teacher and what I have learned on my own. I have to give thanks to my high school teacher, She was very concerned about teaching us the right way. Although I must admit that this about blogs has been something completely new to me. I believe that this is a very good way of interacting especially in this period of pandemic. I think it was very useful to use social networks to learn in these online semesters.

  • What aspects of your English need to be improved and how do you plan to do this?

Truly it hasn’t cost me that much to learn the language, as I like to watch videos in English or listen to music in English as well. The problem is that I am very shy and nervous, so when I speak it my mind is chaos, I am confused with words, grammatical structures, tartamudeo and other things. I have always had that problem with everything, so I think I must continue working on my timidity to be a little more extroverted, that it doesn’t cost me so much to communicate in other languages.

  • Outside the English class, how much are you using English these days? What for?

As I mentioned before, in my day-to-day life music cannot be lacking, to study, to order my house, to take a shower or to play. And I really like music in English so I'm almost always discovering new songs, in which I have to learn the lyrics in order to sing them. And to sing the songs I already know.
I think listening to music in English and watching videos also in English has helped me improve my pronunciation and that speaking the language I hear much more fluid.

  5. Just like daniel said, you just got to keep practicing, a lot of the shy comes from inside the head (i know for a fact), people doesn´t really care much about what we say and do, and that is a good thing when we make a lot of mistakes, for example when learning a lenguage
